Code
Obtain your Importer Exporter Code (IEC), a unique 10-digit code issued by the DGFT (Director General of Foreign Trade), required to carry on the business of importing or exporting goods. IE Code is mandatory for any import or export transaction, and in many cases must also be submitted to your bank for related monetary transactions. On the basis of IEC, companies can access various benefits on their exports and imports from DGFT, Customs, and Export Promotion Councils. It's a one-time, permanent registration with no periodical returns required, unless there's an import or export transaction to report.
